Hi Chf Ann and Chef Kate,

Your lunch with Chef Kate was full of imagery. I could just see the greens, the big juicey leeks, and fresh dark red beets. Your braising part was very helpful. A chuck steak is a good source of protein. Not expensive and not hard to find.

I can see the foods you prepared probably didn’t take too much time to prepare because they are mostly roots. The leeks and beets have so much taste in them that it is not hard to bring that out with sauteing or boiling. I find it interesting that it is the roots that contain the valuable fibre the body needs to trap carcinogens from recirculaing into the body. Your choice of roots was very appropriate for that.
Thanks for this podcast. I wished I was there with you two.

    Hi Ann and Kate,
don’t eat meat and no kale for me, but otherwise would have loved to join you.

Looking forward to meeting you Kate ( would love to meet you too Ann), have been in touch with Eric in Santa Barbara and hope to set up a meeting for parents educating them reg. what a healthy lunch is and what you have found reg. the Santa Barbara status

but.. there are few kids who would have eaten what you prepared ( the one’s that do, we don’t have to be concerned about anymore) Andrea
