Thanks for a fantastic and enjoyable article, Ann and Kate.

Unfortunately the rise of industrial organics was and is inevitable. The people who really run the world, the people who tell the Bushes and Browns what to do, must own and control everything.

The USDA are already capitulating to agribusiness in America. Here in the UK it is inevitable that the Soil Association will face ever more intensive onslaughts from agri and biotech corporations to lower standards.

Small, local, independant producers will once again be priced out of the market, just as they were finding their feet and looking good.

The result will be organic food that is actually conventionally produced and processed. Us consumers and the environment in which we live will be freshly assaulted by industrial farming.

Of course there is the faint possibility that we will resist being bullied and overrun. Our dream of non-poisonous and healthy food for the next generation can be a reality as long as we fight hard enough. That means being aware and keeping everyone informed.
