My head almost exploded when I saw one of those HFCS commercials you referenced. They were very sneaky indeed - and highly obnoxious! Out of curiosity, I went to the website advertised at the end of the commercial (www.sweetsurprise.com), and again, my head almost exploded. This is an excerpt from the home page of the site,

"High fructose corn syrup provides many important characteristics, such as texture, flavor and freshness, to your favorite foods and beverages. It is nutritionally the same as table sugar and has the same number of calories, too. As many dietitians agree, sweeteners should be enjoyed in moderation."

I can't believe the audacity of the Corn Refiners Association (CRA) trying to mislead the American public into a false sense of well-being. It's true now more than ever, you really have to be your own advocate and research EVERYTHING. Thanks for your article highlighting yet another disturbing fact about the dangers of HFCS.
