Here is an email that Chef Ann received…

Dear Ann,

“I wanted to share this photo essay of the salad bar (inspired by Berkeley Unified) that I launched today at my children’s school.  I’ve been lobbying for four years to get the school administration to improve food service (or at least meet State and Federal standards) and today marked the results of those efforts.  Here’s to healthy choices!”

Cheers,
Deborah

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s a salad. Cousin Niklas (in red) is digging in.

Veggie of the Week: Romanesco Broccoli (the ancestor of broccoli and cauliflower; it’s actually a flower!)

Homemade salad dressing is a huge hit!

Our lunch lady Cindy gets in on the action.

The first salad modeled by Camille.

Fruit Salad – orange, grapefruit, grapes

Brown rice
